At the Vancouver Vineyard, our commitment to build a “community that connects people with God and each other” is paramount. We believe we need to steward the move of God so that we can be a dwelling place of his Presence, and we believe that is greatly facilitated by a strong small group culture. It is very difficult to sustain genuine passion and devotion to Christ without the encouragement and commitment that is experienced in small group life. As Jim Egli from Urbana Vineyard says: “People have a hunger and a need to experience God in two different ways. They need to experience God’s greatness. They need to know that he is big and powerful and awesome. They can best experience that in a larger group. This is where they feel like they are part of a movement, something much bigger than themselves. One the other hand, in a small group you experience God’s closeness. Instead of feeling you are part of a movement, in a small group you feel like you are part of a family. Because these people care, you know God cares. Because these people are real, you know you can be real. Every person needs both experiences and we as a church need to offer both of these so that people can experience Jesus more fully, both his greatness and his closeness. Theologians speak of experiencing God’s transcendence and God’s immanence. Those are just fancy words, however, to mean that people need to realize that God is big and powerful and also that he is close and personal.“ So, we encourage you to sign-up for a Life Group & build genuine relationships with others, as well as continue your walk with Christ. You may call the leaders or hosts at the numbers listed for more information. If listed in the description, childcare is offered. Check out our summer life group catalog available at the information desk on Sundays or contact the church office: office@vancouvervineyard.com.
