For the past 10 years, Vancouver Vineyard has provided its members with opportunities
to serve on short term mission trips to Nicaragua. We believe that serving on a mission
team to a third world country allows us to experience God's heart for the poor and changes
our world view forever. Our emphasis is on building long lasting relationships with the
people we serve.
We work cooperatively with the Vineyard Nicaraguan Partnership
to support and encourage Nicaraguan Vineyard church plants. We also provide support and
assistance to our own missionaries Doug and Julie Effinger, who have been in Nicaragua for
the past 8 years and whose current ministries include a feeding program for the poor and
transitional living and educational opportunities for motivated young men and women between
the ages of 18 and 25. In addition, we work with Arms of Love International at the
children's center in Jinotepe, Nicaragua, loving on the kids, working on projects, and
helping maintain the facility.
