Vision Night Recap
We began the evening by remembering who we are and what God has been doing among us. Our calling hasn’t changed: we want to be a people empowered by the Spirit to practice and proclaim the Kingdom of God for the renewal of our city. This past season has been about establishing—strengthening ministries, investing in leaders, and building healthy foundations. We believe there is incredibly good seed at Vancouver Vineyard, and we want to cultivate what God has planted so that our church and our community can flourish.
Next Generation
We want to continue building an ecosystem where kids and teenagers can come to deeply know Jesus, both within Vineyard Kids and Youth Group and through the broader life of the church. That means creating a culture where people across our church build meaningful relationships with young people, know them, encourage them, serve alongside them, and model what it looks like to follow Jesus. We also want to pursue young people outside our church, reaching friends, classmates, teammates, and neighbors, while helping our own kids and teenagers see themselves as participants in God’s mission right now. Our hope is that young people would know they are loved and belong here, and that they would grow to love Jesus and the church for their entire lives.
Encounter
Another place we want to intentionally cultivate what God is already doing is through a value we’re simply calling Encounter. For years, people in our church have been praying for a fresh move of God, and we sense an invitation to respond with greater hunger and expectation. We want to be a church that eagerly desires the activity of the Holy Spirit—where ordinary people learn to hear God’s voice, pray with faith, and respond to his leading. Our new Sunday flow is one practical step, creating more space after the teaching to worship, listen, pray, and respond together. We aren’t trying to manufacture moments or hype; we simply want to make room, come hungry, and trust God to meet us. We believe there is more of God’s presence and power for us to experience together.
Finally, we were reminded that everyone has a role to play in what God is doing among us. God has given each of us something to contribute, in praying, serving, giving, showing up in relationships, or following a dream or calling he has put on our heart. Our invitation for this year is simple: ask God where he is inviting you to contribute, and take your next step.
